Gosh, I am slightly nervous right now. I have been working on this little new project for quite a while now and I am so proud and happy to see it finally come to light. I have been wanting to create a homepage with all my fanfics and everything I have ever written about the BL community for ages. And now it’s finally here. And I can’t stop being nervous.
But maybe let me welcome you a little bit more properly here in my cosy and comfy little living room so to speak. Have a cup of tea while I am gonna explain why I even started with this little project and what you can expect from me in future.
So let’s begin at the start. The all important WHY.
And the answer is actually rather easy: Because I can. Lol. Well, not just that, but I noticed that after 14 years in the online BL community I actually have amassed tons and tons of content. And this content is spread so far and wide all over the internet that at one point I started to fear that some of my stuff will just disappear with the platform I have posted it on. And believe me. Over the years the amount of different platforms I used to publish stuff is insane. So I wanted to have a place where I can put everything nicely together, so that I never need to worry about losing any of it.
Another reason to decide going solo so to speak was that over the years the interest in my person got a bit more and people seem to be curious about my life and how I live. These things I can’t post on any other online platform I use currently as they are all about BL and don’t allow off topic. Which is totally cool and fair enough, but sometimes I would like to just write a blog without worrying too much about making it relevant to a BL community. So I am planning to publish a few blogs here and there about my cats, my DIY or about my life with a disability. The main focus will always be BL. But I am gaining the freedom to sometimes just write about what I find important.
But Heart, does this mean you won’t be publishing on any other platform anymore? Oh, of course not. Please. As if I could stay away from the different communities I am part of. So no worries. You don’t have to look here for new content if you don’t want to. I will still publish stuff on Wattpad and BLDA and all the other platforms I am using. Some blogs I might publish here a bit earlier, some blogs I will just publish here exclusively, but the main bulk of my writing will still be published on the same old platforms as before. This is really just an attempt to keep everything I wrote in one place.
I also made the conscious decision to almost completely abstain from using pictures on here. This is down to the fact that I know that a lot of you guys can’t access very picture heavy pages during work or school or when your families are around. So that’s why I leave the pictures of gorgeous men snogging each other in our communities where people are already aware of what’s coming and are using these pages when it’s safe to do so. But “Your Heart’s Content” I am gonna keep pretty much picture free, so you can just read wherever without having to fear any nosy questions or remarks from the people next to you, maybe seeing a picture that’s a bit too incriminating to explain. I hope this makes accessing my content a bit easier for you.
If you have a quick look around you will also find a new Instagram account and also a new YouTube channel. This both has a good reason and I hope I can welcome you to a new pretty big announcement in the foreseeable future. So stay tuned. Things are gonna get a bit wild here…
