WOW Wednesday: Tul Pakorn

Hello my lovelies,

It’s me AGAIN. I know, I know. Soon you won’t be able to even see my name anymore because I am posting like a crazy person. But I did promise you to get better in the posting department and I think so far I am keeping to my promise.

So today I am bringing you another lovely WOW and I am guessing no one is surprised about me picking this particular guy, because if I am famous for one thing, then it’s for my undying love for this wonderful human being. For

Tul Pakorn

Yes, I already wrote a Cutie Of The Week about our lovely boy but it has literally been years since then and new information and stuff is happening and I just thought Tul deserves a brand spanking new batch of appreciation. Because let’s face it, this man is just awesome. As always I am gonna concentrate on the more obscure and random facts about our lovely Tul, because I know you already know all the other stuff anyway.

But I am getting ahead of myself. Let’s start with the usual basic information first.

Random Facts You Might Not Know

His Nickname Is Actually Not TUL

Yes, funnily enough that’s not how you actually pronounce this name. Tul is something that doesn’t work in the Thai language as an L can never be the last letter in a syllable. Every L turns automatically into an N if it’s at the end. So our lovely boy is actually TUN, but if you write it in Thai it’s Tul.

Same goes actually for his surname. Because if you write it, it would be Tha-Nas-Ri-Va-Ni-Tchai. And since an S also can’t stand at the end of a syllable his surname suddenly turns into Tha-Nat-Ri-Va-Ni-Tchai.

But I guess the difference in his nickname is actually the biggest one. So if you wanna ever call Tul, don’t forget to use an N at the end and not an L. Lol.

He Is Very Musical

Oh, this fact is pretty well known I would say. I mean, who hasn’t heard Tul version of the Bad Romance Soundtrack. When he sings “The person who is sad is not you” I can never not cry. Because this man can put so many feelings into his voice that it makes you wanna bawl your eyes out for the next few days. But he is not just an excellent singer. No. He also can play the piano, the saxophone and can you believe it: the xylophone? I mean, that’s totally crazy. I mean, I have seen him play the piano and I have seen him play the saxophone and he plays both totally beautifully. But seeing him playing the xylophone? Gosh, that would be a dream come true. I am sure he is as good with this wooden instrument as he is with everything else.

Family Matters

Tul was actually born into quite the family. His dad is a business man and his mother is an assistant professor. Tul has four siblings, two sisters, two brothers, and the age range of his siblings is very diverse. He is the second oldest of these five and is extremely close with one of his sisters, who by chance looks like Tul in a wig. Like seriously, she has the same features, the same cute button nose and the same smile. It’s almost spooky. Since part of Tul’s family is actually Chinese, our lovely boy is also fluent in Mandarin. And to just finish his whole family affairs, let me just add that his family as a whole is mega successful. They run Group Thaiwat Engineering Co Ltd, a golf course and also a huge resort with a golf course in Chiang Mai. Tul is heir together with his siblings of everything.

There Is A Reason For His Perfect English

As someone who studies Thai I can definitely vouch for the difficulties to study English for Thai native speakers. The whole system is different, the way we use sounds is different, the whole freaking alphabet is different. But I am not sure if you ever noticed, that our lovely Tul actually can speak almost perfect english. Yes, he still has this adorable Thai accent, but he is very eloquent in English and he has no issues writing English social media posts. And this all is actually down to the fact that our boy has lived all of Junior High in Australia and went to school there. He finished Junior High in Hobart, Tasmania, before moving back to Bangkok. So Tul has not just traveled the whole world already, no, he already has lived in another country, with a different language and a different culture. I always think that this makes you the best version you can be. If you get to know other cultures and see how they live. And I think Tul would definitely agree with me here.

He Is Friends With Everybody

If you ask which BL actor in Thailand is the one who is the most connected one within the BL community then you can’t name anyone else then Tul I would think. Because he is literally friends with EVERONE and their dog. He went to school with Tay and they have been best friends ever since. I think via Tay he met all the GMM BL boys and he has been seen with different ones of them going out for dinner and so on. Tul is also good friends with Mew. I think again that they met at university as all of them went to the same traditional university in Bangkok.

Beauty And Still No Vain

Tul is beautiful, I think we can all agree on that. He works so hard to have the perfect body, he is really into healthy food and he looks after his appearance. I mean, he is a BL actor. So of course he is proper gorgeous. And with beauty there is often a lot of vanity. If people tell you all the time how beautiful and gorgeous you are… Who would be able to resist and start maybe the tiniest bit of vanity (I am not trash talking vanity here btw. Because I am pretty sure I am one of the most vain people in the universe).

But Tul is not one of these people and I still find that mind boggling. But on 11.11.20 Tul posted a message on Instagramm informing us fans that he just had a very bad Bell’s Palsy attack and couldn’t move the right side of his face anymore. Tul and Max were both right in the middle of doing promo for Manner Of Death. For Tul to not be able to continue with the work would have been a massive issue for the show. So what did our beautiful boy do? He just trooped through everything like a hero. He posted pictures of his face, explained about Bell’s Palsy and the risk factors, he let us take part in his way to recovery. He even continued with his promotional work for the series. I am still totally flabbergasted that someone who works in one of the most vain genres out there had the balls to just say “fuck it, that’s how I am at this moment in time and you can take it or leave it, but I am not gonna hide away because of this”. As a woman with disabilities I couldn’t be more proud of him. Because the illness is just the outside. It doesn’t define us. We are still totally beautiful, regardless of our limitations.

A Fighter For The Cause

And to end this lovely gushing over this fabulous human being let me just bring up all the amazing good causes that he is supporting. Tul has been very outspoken about the political issues in Thailand and he hasn’t backed down until this day, even though a lot of content creators who posted anti-thai stuff got into major trouble. But if Tul believes something is right, he will definitely fight for it. He also has been a great ally for us ladies. He is one of the people behind the Happi menstrual cup, which is aiming at helping women in rural areas due to the huge menstrual poverty in Thailand. He also has supported different environmental causes over the years. For example Tul has supported an elephant charity and also a charity that fights for the safety of the sea turtle.

But of all his amazing accomplishments my favourite is his continued support for the LGBTQplus community. He has never been shy about his support, and he and Max always were very serious about portraying their characters in a respectful and true manner. I think you can see that mindset when these two act together. They are not shying away from the closeness their roles demand like some other actors, but embrace it completely.

Conclusion

Before I continue gushing even more and longer I will come to an end here. Because I literally could continue for hours more. Tul has been a big part of my BL journey and I think I could have chosen a worse person than him to devote my time and energy to. I hope that our little perfectionist one day notices that he doesn’t have to work so hard all the time and that we will love him just the same if he just gives 100 percent instead of his usual 250. For his own health and so that we can keep him around a very long time. Because a BL world without Tul in it? Unthinkable.
