It’s Sunday and that means I have another tiny, little fact for you which hopefully is gonna make you a tiny bit smarter. Today’s little fact was actually sent to me by one of our members: Nudnik. So thank you for sending me this extremely interesting nugget.

But let’s move over to today’s fact. This is supposed to be a quick blog after all. So….
Did You Know…
That newlyweds in different Asian countries are getting gifted a pair of duck statues? No? And what the frack has this to do with BL?
Let me explain.
Do you remember the scene during Cutie Pie 2 episode 1 where Hia Lian comes to visit NuKuea in his apartment? And he sees the two cuddle toys standing underneath the picture?
Yes, exactly THIS scene!
And you can hear Hia ask if it means what he thinks it does… Well, that’s actually due to the duck statues that newlyweds are being gifted. Because it’s their secret code for “I am in the mood, let’s go to the bedroom”. So if the ducks are facing away from each other it usually means that sex is not in the cards tonight. Apparently it’s mainly used by wives to show if they are interested without having to bring up the embarrassing topic of sex. So when the two ducks are actually facing each other, it means “Tonight’s gonna be your lucky night, my fella”.
So I hope this explains this little joke of Hia Lian’s a bit more and now we all can laugh with all the other Asian people about this lovely joke as we now also understand the meaning of two statues or cuddly toys facing each other.
