Hello, hello my friendly Misfits,
And welcome to another part of Manga Magic. Wohoooo. And today’s manga is really something to shout about. I didn’t think I would love it as much as I did, but hey, I am so freaking happy that I finally found this special edition and I honestly couldn’t put it to the side once I started reading.
But with this being the base for one of my all time favourite BL movies, it really was no surprise that I loved the manga just as much, if not even a tiny tad more. I am talking obviously about the absolute fantastic
Seven Days
By Venio Tachibana (story) and Rihito Takarai (art)
They finally now released a compilation book with all days together in one really thick book and when I saw that advertised in my local manga store I went pretty much ballistic. It took me another few months to finally get my paws on it but heavens. The wait was so worth it.
What Is It About?
Yuzuru really has an issue with the girls in his life. Being blessed with an angelic face, people always just assume that his character must also be one of poise and royalty. Which couldn’t be further from the truth because Yuzuru is a bit of a grumpy old man trapped in a young guy’s body. So everytime a girl asks him out things fall apart the moment they get to know the real Yuzuru.
Seryou on the other hand can’t save himself from all the girls that want to go out with him. After being burned badly by love in the past, he has started to just agree to anyone who asks him out on a Monday. He is gonna date that person for a week and if he can’t fall in love, he just breaks up with them again.
When Seryou comes late to school one Monday morning he runs into a downtrodden Yuzuru who surprisingly asks Seryou out himself. What starts more out of curiosity turns real rather quickly, but with both boys not really being forthcoming with their feelings, is there even a chance that this can last longer than seven days?
Why Did I Buy It?
I bought it because I freaking love the movies. There was literally a time where I watched it every night to help me fall asleep. I loved the characters, I loved the storyline, I just loved everything about it. So seeing this manga I was obviously mega hyped to read it. And yes, the cover wouldn’t have been the reason to buy it as it’s just very generic.
Age Rating?
Pretty much PG. There are a few kisses but nothing more. So no smut for anyone here. But it fits the storyline, so it’s not like we are missing anything.
How Did I Like It?
I LOOOOOOOOOOOVED IT! The movies really go along with the storyline of the book to a t. So you already know what to expect. But there are also the situations where the characters are shown in a bit more depth and where you can see the development of the story and the characters in more details than in the movies. So that in itself made reading this book already totally worth it.
But it’s not just that. The art is just stunning and makes you wonder how they even found actors beautiful enough to play these characters (thank the Goddess they found these two stellar actors that were perfect for this). All in all, it’s just utter perfection to me. This is like a rainbow coloured sprinkled donut wrapped up in pink cotton candy. The perfect young love story if I ever encountered one.
Final Impression?
If you love the movies, please do yourself a favour and buy this. It’s just so incredibly good and it just adds to the movies instead of taking anything away. I mean, often when a movie is made from a manga or book it can be disappointing but in this case the movie guys did everything perfect to a t. So it’s really just an adorable read which will give you even more insights into Seryou’s and Yuzuru’s characters.
How Many Pink Milks?
(Zero Pink Milks mean “no fluff at all”, five Pink Milks mean “you gonna die of diabetes”)

How Many Chilli Peppers?
(Zero Chillies mean “not even a kiss”, five Chillies mean “don’t read in company”)
1
How Many Hearts?
(Zero Hearts mean “hated it with a passion”, five Hearts mean “totally loved it”)

And that’s it. Another Manga Magic done. Wohooo. Let’s see which book I am gonna talk about next week. *disappears into her book stash* wish me luck, that I find the way out here again.
