Hello, hello and welcome to our next little Love Song.
And I have to admit I had to start digging a little bit in my old soundtrack’s vault to find a song we haven’t gushed about. But when I went through our list I noticed that we never talked about THE song from Theory of Love. I know, I know. Fake Protagonist is definitely the coolest song ever (I should know, I forced my Thai teacher to make this song our homework once), but somehow I always felt that the song I want to talk about today fits the feeling and the whole atmosphere of Theory of Love even better. And that would be:
The Loudest Silence.
Again it’s from the absolutely fantastic Getsunova and if you have been in the BL game for a while you know that Getsunova is pretty much BL Soundtrack royalty by now with the amount of songs they have gifted to our fandom. But I can’t recommend them enough outside of their soundtrack work as well. This band is just SO fantastic and Nem, the lead singer, has a voice that makes me go weak in my knees everytime I hear him. So if you have not checked Getsunova out, then I can’t recommend them enough. You will love it, trust me.
But back to the song at hand. The Loudest Silence. In this song they describe the feeling when you are hopelessly in love with someone and you want to scream it from the top of your lungs because you and your heart are so full with all this love and these emotions and they need to go somewhere. But sometimes just speaking up is just not as easy. You might lose a friend, you might already know it’s hopeless. So you can’t just say what’s so heavy in your heart. And THIS feeling. This being silenced before you even had a chance to speak up, that’s the feeling that they are describing in this song and I for one think that no other song could have fit so perfectly to Theory of Love.
We first have Third not being able to tell Kai about his feelings, suffering in silence and just trying to harden his heart to not be hurt so much anymore. And then after a while we have our Kai who finally realises what was in his heart all along but still it’s too late to just say what’s in his heart. After everything it’s just not that easy to share.
And I think that’s what I love about this song so much. You can read it from both sides in this case. From Third’s point of view but also from Kai. Which makes it so deliciously torturous in my opinion.
But let’s just start with this wonderful song and here, some tissues, in case you might need them. Damn, onion cutting ninjas and the trauma that Theory of Love left me with. Lol.

I mean, they are swimming under the sea while flying! If that’s not something I don’t know what is. I still think they did such a wonderful and light job with this performance.
